Definition
An uneven burn in which one side runs ahead of the other, hollowing the cigar into a shape resembling a canoe. Causes include wind, uneven lighting, and moisture variation across the leaves.
Why it matters
Left uncorrected it wastes tobacco and pulls the blend out of balance, but it is usually fixable by touching up the lagging side with a flame.
