Umbrella term for any cigar whose body departs from a straight cylinder, taking in perfectos, piramides, torpedoes, culebras, and diademas. Shaped molds and freehand skill are both required, so figurados fall to the senior torcedores.
Why it matters
Tapering changes the ratio of filler to wrapper as the burn advances, so a figurado's intensity moves along its length in a way no parejo does.
