Connecticut Shade

Wrapper grown under cheesecloth tents in the Connecticut River Valley, developed in the early twentieth century from Cuban and Sumatran stock. Shading yields a thin, silky, pale golden leaf with fine veins.

It is the reference point for mild, creamy cigars, and the same seed grown in Ecuador now supplies most of the market because Connecticut land and labor are expensive.
