The informal rules of conduct in cigar lounges: do not smoke another person's cigar or handle it, ask before joining a conversation, keep phone calls outside, do not wear strong fragrance, and buy from the shop whose chairs you are using.

Lounges are shared sensory spaces where one inconsiderate person can spoil everyone's smoke, so the conventions are more strictly observed than in most bars.
